Evidence levels
Every statement in CivCodex carries an evidence level. The scale runs from E0, fiction, to E5, established fact. Speculation is never written as fact, and unknown is a legitimate answer.

| E2Scientific hypothesis | Scientific hypothesis A hypothesis framed in scientific terms, not yet supported. |
| E3Indirect evidence | Indirect evidence Supported indirectly or by a single source. |
| E4Strong evidence | Strong evidence Supported by multiple independent sources. |
| E5Confirmed | Confirmed Established fact in the scholarly consensus. |
