Sources
Every fact on CivCodex points back to a source. This page explains what we record about sources and lists the ones currently in use.
What we record
- For each source: type, publisher, author, publication date, URL, retrieval date, the evidence it supports and our confidence in it.
- Each source carries a trust score (0–100) that starts from its type and is adjusted as claims from it are confirmed or contradicted.
- A claim's evidence level is capped by its weakest source; a profile is only as certain as its weakest claim.
- We record the license of every source and only reproduce excerpts under terms that allow it.

Trust scores are editorial estimates, revised as claims from a source are verified or corrected.
